Perinatal Mental Health & Wellness

Bravery begins with showing up.

Pregnancy and motherhood can change almost everything: your body, your identity, your relationships, your sexuality, your confidence and the way you experience yourself.

There can be so much joy, and there can also be grief, anxiety, exhaustion, uncertainty, loneliness, and days that look nothing like you imagined they would.

A difficult birth can change how you feel in your body. Exhaustion can affect your relationship. Changes in your body can affect intimacy. Anxiety can shape the way you experience pregnancy or parenting. And becoming a parent can bring our own childhood and attachment experiences to the surface.

Sometimes you're doing okay. Sometimes you're just getting through the day. And sometimes you can hold both at once.

I believe there is bravery in showing up for yourself, especially when things haven't gone the way you imagined, and grace in allowing yourself to be where you are.

Showing up doesn't mean having it all together. It might mean acknowledging that something is hard, being curious about what's changed, or making space for yourself when you're used to putting everyone else first.

My approach is compassionate, connection-focused and grounded in real-life experience.

Relationships & Intimacy

Pregnancy, birth and becoming parents can change the way you experience your relationship, your body and intimacy.

Relationship counselling can support you through changes in communication, conflict, emotional connection, body confidence, desire and sex after pregnancy and birth.

Drawing on my training in perinatal mental health, relationship counselling and conflict resolution, we can explore what has changed, what matters to you, and how you want to reconnect with yourself and your relationship.

Perinatal Counselling

Individual counselling throughout pregnancy and the transition into motherhood, including anxiety, overwhelm, postnatal depression, identity changes and adjustment to becoming a parent.

I also support women through miscarriage, pregnancy and infant loss, and traumatic birth experiences, including births involving unexpected or difficult medical intervention.

For neurodivergent women, pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period can bring their own challenges, particularly around sensory experiences, communication, medical environments and the demands of early parenthood.

My counselling approach can include art therapy, expressive therapies and sandtray, alongside talking therapy, depending on what feels most useful for you.

Core & Pelvic Floor

Pregnancy and birth can change the way your core and pelvic floor feel and function.

These individual sessions focus on breath, pelvic floor activation, deep core connection and Pilates-based movement, helping you rebuild strength, coordination and confidence after pregnancy and birth.

Sessions are tailored to you, with exercises you can continue at home.

Core and pelvic floor sessions are exercise-based and do not replace assessment or treatment by a pelvic health physiotherapist.

About Me

My work has always been centred around attachment and connection: our connection to ourselves, our partners, our children, and the family, friends and community around us.

Since 2012, I have worked in the perinatal space, supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period across both physical and mental health. My experience began in antenatal and postnatal fitness, Pilates, core and pelvic floor work, and has grown to include counselling, trauma, pregnancy and infant loss, birth trauma, anxiety and depression, relationships, attachment and parenting.

I’m particularly interested in what becoming a parent can bring to the surface. Experiences from our own childhood, relationships and past trauma can show up in unexpected ways when we have children of our own. For some women, this is also a time when previously unrecognised neurodivergence begins to make sense, as the demands, sensory load and changes of pregnancy and parenthood bring new challenges.

Alongside my professional experience, I bring lived experience to this work. I understand personally many of the experiences I support women through, including pregnancy loss, changes in relationships, and the physical journey of pregnancy, postnatal recovery and reconnecting with your body.

My hope is that Brave Collective becomes a place where women can show up exactly as they are.

Where we can talk honestly about pregnancy, loss, birth, motherhood, relationships, sex, bodies, children and the things from our own past that sometimes come along for the ride.

A place to reconnect with yourself and the people who matter to you, and maybe give yourself a little more grace along the way.
